What is Tabres POS?

Tabres POS is the point of sale app in Tabres, a Restaurant & Cafe Management Platform. Staff take the order on a phone, tablet or computer. The order goes straight to the kitchen screen. The app then splits the bill, takes payment in several ways, and prints or sends the receipt. It is free, on as many devices, branches and employees as you need.

Taking an order

Made for the way guests order

Start at a table, or open a takeaway, delivery or self-service order straight away. Your manager sets up the product grid and gives each product a colour or an image, so staff find it by sight before they read the name.

A grid staff can read fast

Every product has its own colour on the POS. If the manager adds an image to a product, staff see the image on the button instead of the colour. The button looks the same on every shift and on every device.

Sizes and add-ons in one step

Small, medium and large each have their own price. An add-on group can be one choice or many, you can use it on many products, and it has its own tax class.

The price updates while you add

Tabres works out the subtotal, discounts, taxes, service fee and delivery fee while you add items. The price the waiter reads out is the price the guest pays.

Notes for allergies and requests

Each order can have a note for allergies, special requests, and things to add or leave out. Allergens stay saved on the order line.

Managing a live order

Service changes, and the order changes with it

Guests move table, split into groups, order more and change their minds. All of this is normal at the register, and Tabres saves a reason where a reason is needed.

Discounts, with a reason

Give a percent or a fixed amount, on the whole order or on one line. You can add a reason, for example “loyal customer” or “manager approval”.

Move a table, join two

Move an order to another table. If that table is already busy, the two orders join into one bill.

Remove an item, with a reason

When you remove a line, Tabres asks why, so the record makes sense later. You can change the order type between dine-in, takeaway and delivery at any time.

Add a customer

Choose a customer from the list or add a new one, with contact details and a delivery address, including the floor and notes for the driver.

Real time, every device

When someone creates or changes an order on one device, it appears on all the others at once: the waiter's tablet, the second register, the manager's laptop. Nobody has to refresh.

Straight to the kitchen

Take the order, and the kitchen sees it a second later

Nobody carries the order to the kitchen and nothing is printed. An order taken on the POS is confirmed the moment you send it, so it appears on the kitchen screen of that branch straight away, and each item goes to the right station by its category. An order a guest creates on the QR menu waits until someone in the business accepts it.

  1. Order taken on the POS
  2. Confirmed as you send it
  3. It shows on the kitchen screen
  4. POS takes payment

Sent to the right station

Grill, bar, pastry: you set up the stations for each branch in Manager, and the items go to the right part of the kitchen by themselves.

The timer starts when the order is confirmed

A ticket starts at zero, because zero is how long the kitchen has had it. A guest’s QR order counts from the moment you accept it, not from when the guest sent it.

Cancel it and the kitchen knows

If you cancel an order at the register while it is on the kitchen screen, the next action on that ticket tells the cook, in their own language, and the card leaves the screen.

Payments, splits, tips and refunds

Every payment is a line, and what is left is the balance

Tabres saves each payment and each refund as a new line and never changes an old line. The balance is what is left after those lines. An order can be unpaid, part paid or paid, whatever the kitchen is doing.

Split the bill by order or by item

Pay the whole order, or pay by item. Choose the lines the guest is paying for and charge only those. Part of a quantity works too.

Many ways to pay, one record

Cash and card take one tap. Bank transfer, mobile wallet, QR, voucher and free of charge are in the list. Use as many as the table needs.

Tips and refunds

Add a tip as any amount, or as a percentage of the amount being paid: 5 / 10 / 15 / 20%, or type your own percentage. Refund a whole payment or only some items, and add a note.

Bills and receipts

A bill shows what to pay. A receipt shows it is paid

Tabres keeps the two apart, because a guest who asks for the total and a guest who asks for proof need different documents.

Tables and floor

Each table has a name, a number of seats, a shape, a place and a status, for every branch. Filter tables by branch, place, shape or status, and see which tables have an open order. Each table can have its own QR code, so a scan opens the menu for that table.

Employees, roles and PINs

On their own phone or computer, each person signs in with their own account and starts working. On a shared device, staff swap over with a PIN and the Lock button. Their role decides what they see.

Tabres POS availability by country

We are careful about where the POS may legally be used. When you sign in, the POS checks your country and shows one of the results below.

Blocked

“Tabres POS is not available in your region.”

The POS is turned off. The QR Menu, link-in-bio and online ordering stay available.

Advisory

Certified fiscal integration required.

The country's tax authority requires POS systems to report to a government fiscal or e-invoicing service, which Tabres does not yet provide. The POS may be used alongside a separately certified fiscal device.

Advisory

Review your local POS obligations.

A reminder that local bookkeeping, retention or reporting rules may apply to your business.

Tabres keeps POS records “as accurate, complete, and tamper-evident as reasonably possible”, and builds custom data exports for accounting or tax reporting on request. Ask us on WhatsApp or write to [email protected].

Questions

Questions restaurants ask first

What does Tabres POS cost?

Nothing. There is no monthly fee, no fee for each device and no fee for each employee. The only thing you can pay for is extra AI credits, and only if you use them.

Do we have to buy hardware?

No. Tabres POS works in any modern browser, on a computer, tablet or phone, and the layout fits the device.

How many devices and employees can we use?

As many as you want, in as many branches as you want. On their own phone or computer each person signs in with their own account and works in the POS straight away. On a device the team shares, a manager unlocks it once and staff swap over with their own PIN. A second or third device costs nothing.

How do staff sign in on a shared tablet?

A manager unlocks the device once, and after that each person taps their name and types their own PIN. The Lock button hands the device to the next person, so a shift change takes seconds and no manager has to be standing there. Their role decides what they can see and do once they are in.

Do orders go to the kitchen automatically?

Yes. An order taken on the POS is confirmed the moment you send it, so it appears on the kitchen screen of that branch straight away, with each item routed to the right station by its category. Nothing is printed and nobody carries a ticket down a corridor. Cancel the order at the register and the kitchen is told.

How do I take payment?

Cash and card take one tap; bank transfer, mobile wallet, QR, voucher and free of charge are in the list, and one table can use as many of them as it needs. Each payment and refund is saved as its own line and no old line is ever changed, so the balance is simply what is left. An order can sit unpaid, part paid or paid, whatever the kitchen is doing.

Can Tabres POS split a bill between guests?

Yes. Pay the whole order at once, or pay by item: pick the lines one guest is paying for and charge only those, part of a quantity included. Each payment is saved as its own line, so one table can settle in cash, card, bank transfer, mobile wallet, QR or voucher, in any mix, and what is left is the balance. A tip can be any amount or a percentage, and a refund returns a whole payment or only some items.

Can I change an order after it has been sent?

Yes. Add another round to the same table, remove a line with a reason, discount one line or the whole order, move the order to another table — the two join into one bill if that table is busy — or switch it between dine-in, takeaway and delivery. Every open device sees the change at once, the kitchen screen included.

Does Tabres POS work offline?

No. Tabres POS needs an internet connection. Orders, payments and balances are kept on the server, so every device shows the same thing. If a device loses the connection, it reads everything again when it comes back.

Is Tabres POS available in my country?

Not everywhere. The POS resolves the applicable country when you sign in, and where it cannot be used it says so plainly: “Tabres POS is not available in your region.” The QR Menu and online ordering keep working either way. Message us and we will confirm your market before you set anything up.

Everything you need to run the restaurant. Nothing to cancel.

Sign-up asks for an email address and a verification code. There is no card capture anywhere in onboarding — nothing to cancel, because there is nothing to start.
